Port Charlotte

Port Charlotte is the central sub-division within Charlotte County. A residential community, it is central to local retail, restaurants, medical and professional services. It has a population of 54,392 residents and about 23.9 miles of sub-division within Charlotte County. Port Charlotte was named to Forbes’ list of “25 Best Places to Retire in 2015”, listed among the ten best places in the United States to retire to in 2012 by U.S. News & World Report, and was ranked at #1 in CNNMoney.com’s 2009 list of “25 Best Places to Retire”.

The residential community consists of mixed deed and non-deed restricted areas. Larger community developments such as Heritage Oak Park, Kings Gate, Kingsway, Pinewood and Pinecrest are just a few of the deed restricted communities.

Port Charlotte is home to the Charlotte Stone Crabs, a Triple AAA baseball team which hosts Spring Training for the Tampa Bay Rays. It has two of the largest hospitals in Charlotte County. For recreation and shopping, residents visit the Simon Town Center Mall, which has over 57 store locations, food court and a Regal Cinema. The Charlotte County Cultural Center is another popular center that provides many community and educational activities throughout the year.
